Size & Good Sense: Size and shape is usually a good place to start for the experienced eye. In addition, the chances of a secondary tooth spontaneously falling out on an otherwise healthy 22 y.o. without any prior pain or swelling is virtually unheard of. It just makes good sense. But you can always bring it to your dentist if you are still concerned.

You can't: But a Dentist can. It's probably a baby tooth, but you will have to be examined to be sure. Take the tooth with you. Also it's important that the tooth be replaced to prevent Posterior Bite Collapse, other teeth collapsing into are where tooth was lost, which can cause serious bite problems.
