Some blackness: of lips is the result of dryness aggravated by licking of lips, sun exposure and smoking. This leads to discoloration. But it may also be melasma...a sun sensitive discoloration of the skin that may be genetic. Sunscreens and discontinuation of photosensitizing medication may help along with bleaching creams, retin-A, or chemical peel. Consult a Dermatologist.
