I would suggest to use lip balm, it may not guarantee non scarring but should speed healing and reduce scarring. Do not remove the covering just use the lip balm at least twice daily.

Keep area clean and use an astringent to clean it off. Put VASOLINE on lip to protect area and lip will heal soon.
