Only in the mind: The rusty fork incident 6 weeks ago has affected the person only in that the incident is making her think about it, more than once. Other than the thoughts, there is no reason to believe there are any other effects... unless there is a chronic sore or ongoing inflammation at that site on the gums. If the gums look fine and feel fine, then no worries.
