Ligament Injury: Although no breaks seen on x-ray, you could still have injured the ligaments and tendons in your leg, resulting in prolonged discomfort that could take up to 8 weeks to resolve. If there has been no improvement thus far, suggest going to see your local orthopedic surgeon or primary care physician for re-evaluation.

Non displaced or : Stress fracture can have a negative xray. When you see your ortho guy he will repeat the xray. Depending on the degree of pain and the physical exam he might add an MRI of the area or bone scan.
