A member asked:

I fractured my sternum in crash 10 months, have been in almost continual pain since. would mri or ct be most helpful to pinpoint the continuing problem?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Either one: If you ask a radiologist which they prefer, they will tell you that it's personal preference. Both are good tests. I've had patients with MRIs find things CT scans missed, and CT scans find things MRIs missed. But neither one misses much. They are very sensitive tests.
