Look 4 Competence!: In states & provinces in which i've worked, anyone can call him/herself a "psychotherapist" or "talk therapist." so far, i haven't encountered a licensing body for "psychotherapists." that said, mental health & some health professionals are the ones who tend 2 get training. Look in2 the specific training different professionals get. Seek referrals from people u trust. Ensure u get competent help!
