Many kinds: There are many different types of psychotherapy on the other hand, such as psychoanalytic, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, and gestalt, just to name a few. If you were seeking psychotherapy, I would suggest reading up on all of these types of psychotherapy, and choose which one sounds the best for you.

There are many different modalities. CBT for example looks at automatic thoughts, cognitive distortions, and makes corrections to promote wellness. Psychodynamic looks at past and present relationships and their effects on one's behavior in the past and moving forward. Do your research on the approach of the given therapist you are seeing. Ask yourself if the approach sounds like it resonates
