Frostbite: Frostbite can turn into an infection in many patients. If you are concerned then please seek medical care for further evaluation and treatment.

Normal progression: If it is in fact frost nip and not frostbite, then this is normal. The callouses are dead skin and the surrounding red areas are irritated tissue. It the skin starts turning darker, please see your primary care provider immediately.
