A member asked:

Is a surgery required for correcting pcos?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: PCOS can be "managed" not "corrected" by medication such as oral contraceptive agents and others. PCOS is not "cured" by the medication, but simply reduces excessive ovarian cyst formation and androgen production. Years ago ovarian surgical wedge resections were used "cure" PCOS, but is rarely used today.
