Variable time: Styes last a variable time depending upon your body's resistance, what treatment you administer and issues such as your age and environment. Recommended is the use of frequent very warm (not hot) soaks up to 5 times per day. Antibiotics are not helpful in most cases. If a stye persists after this treatment for more than a week, then see your ophthalmologist. You can wear contacts during this.
