Nothing : The ten-year iud begins to work immediately. There is no true benefits of waiting two weeks although it's certainly reasonable for your physician to be cautious.

IUD possibly: Requires 2 weeks before full contraceptive protection is in effect. If u become pregnant, iud must b removed to prevent complications. Best to follow doctor's instructions rather than tragically find out what might happen.
