Prenatal 1st set of blood work tsh of 6.postnatal 5.2.repeating 1mo.no antibody test.is this definite hypothyroid or possibly just due to pg?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Likely hypothyroid: A TSH higher than 5 suggest hypothyroid. It may not be accompanied by low serum T4 or T3 but you are at risk of becoming hypothyroid and should consult an endocrinologist for proper evaluation and treatment. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex.
