More effective: If your Dentist has recommended additional in-office treatment it is because "perfect" oral hygiene is not working for you. Perhaps you have tarter below the gums that you can't remove. Perhaps there are plaque accumulations that you are missing. Trust your Dentist, he/she has your best interests at heart.

May Vary: Not sure exactly what program you are referring to. However,there MUST be a demonstrated need for this for it to benefit you. So, unless you have been shown conclusive evidence-based findings, you should question the need. (bleeding , swelling, discoloration of tissues, increased pocket depths, bone loss, tooth mobility) Excellent home care and exam/cleanings 2-3x/yr should suffice. Good Luck.
