Echo: An Echo is gold standard with regards to diagnosis of valvular pathology and pulmonary hypertension therefore the results are usually reliable. The treatment would depend on your age, overall cardiac function, other illnesses and many other factors. You will need to discuss this with your cardiologist.

Maybe: Echo is best for valve status. Regarding pulmonary hypertension, echo is very helpful, however the formal diagnosis is done with a right heart catheterization. Other testing is done with RHC to include if the pulmonary hypertension is reversible or not. This is particularly important in determining if treatment is necessary, and what type of treatment. Pulm HTN in young is rare and needs eval.
