Not a problem: The docs don't want any aspirin like product (we don't use them in kids) within 24 hrs of surgery that would interfere with clotting. They also don't want the kid to eat or drink anything in the hours before they are placed under anesthesia. That could fill their tummy with something they throw up and inhale into their lungs as they are put to sleep.Just clarify how long the kid can't drink/eat.
