Uncertain.: Hope surgery unlikely. You leave out key details - do you have an immune deficiency or poorly controlled diabetes. In addition to an ENT doctor I would probably want to see an infectious disease doctor particularly if surgery is suggested. Depending on the type of infection you're describing- imaging such as CT scan/ MRI may help It sounds like you're on the right track. Hope you're better soon.
