No antibiotic: It's difficult to imagine pharyngitis without pain. Whether or not painful, the large majority of pharyngitis is viral. Antibiotics treat only bacterial infections and won't help. Can't think of any "natural" remedies that will help either. Just sit tight -- see a doctor for professional advice if it continues or you remain concerned.

Pharyngitis.: Acute pharyngitis is typically viral in etiology, so should resolve in a few days (3-5) with conservative measures. If your symptoms last beyond 5 days, you may want to consider a doctor's evaluation as the chance of this being just a viral infection will start to wane at that point.
