What does it mean if you have an indeterminate axis on an ecg?

Complicated: It may mean nothing. It is a directional index of the flow of electric impulses through the conduction system in the heart that allows it to respond with beating. An indeterminate axis means that it cannot be clearly determined what the overall angle of electrical stimuli is. It must be interpreted in the context of your clinical problems, or not.

Many reasons : Axis on an ECG refers to the direction ("vector") of the over all electrical forces generated during each heart beat, as seen from the body surface. It is automatically calculated by the ECG machine, but sometimes the machine can't compute the axis, and it is labeled "indeterminate". It may or may not reflect underlying heart disease, so please have the ECG checked by a cardiologist.
