Axis: EKG axis is determined by analyzing positive and negative patterns in the different limb leads. Electrical axis: Roughly corresponds to size & shape of heart. No simple answer. Can indicate left or right ventricular muscle enlargement, left or right atrial enlargement, dextrocardia, loss of activity by a portion of heart muscle. After you get your MD you can spend some time learning to interpret cardiograms. It is hard. Most Drs are not good at it.
