There are several: topical meds (pediculicides) available OTC to treat head lice and public lice. They must be used EXACTLY as directed. The red marks may be bites. OTC cortisone cream may help them go away but pediculicides won't YOU must HELP anyone you've had recent direct physical contact with or shared head gear with by advising them to check themselves for lice too.
