F, obese on prilosec 40mg for gerd and chronic laryngitis. i reduced prilosec to 20mg for last 3 weeks due to bloating. ive had more reflux, itchy burning throat, and a bronchospasm with bad cough and mucus. can reduction of prilosec cause flareups?

The reduced dose could allow for your GERD symptoms to return that were controlled with the higher dose. You should see a GI doctor to see if there is an alternative treatment that would lead to less bloating. There may be an effective treatment that won’t lead to the bloating side effect. So, see a GI doctor for evaluation and treatment. Good luck to you!
