Can an xray show liposarcoma? after an xray of mass, doctor ordered mri of the mass. could it be because the doctor is suspicious of malignancy?

Unlikely: Xray is unlikely to show a liposarcoma, MRI is usually better at it. It's possible that the reason for the MRI is cancer, that's the most common reason to use that imaging strategy. But the chance of liposarcoma is extremely low.
