Here's some info...: http://www.dent.umich.edu/patients/cbct-imaging-service-frequently-asked-questions I'm sure there's plenty more out there. Regarding natural radiation, you are comparing full body exposure to exposure of just the jaw, so it is hard to compare.

Information: See Dr. Davantzis reply for excellent information. Know that a CBCT is a diagnostic tool enabling your practitioner to better plan and accomplish your treatment. In every medicine there's a little poison. It's a risk verses reward decision. In this case very low risk for very high reward. If the Dentist is able to see inside before starting treatment, treatment will be better & quicker.
