A member asked:

What are the advantages of a cbct scan versus a normal dental xray? can it show missed canals or infection better?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Imaging: X-rays are 2 dimensional representations of a 3 dimensional object. CBCT takes a 3 dimensional image that can be viewed in 360º. Each has advantages and draw-backs. What's important is the training and skill of the practitioner in interpreting the images that (s)he sees. For state-of-the-art treatment see a specialist Endodontist.
