Periodontist: Periodontist, gum/bone specialist, is correct choice. Prosthodontist replaces missing teeth. Endodontist does root canal treatment. Ask Periodontist to evaluate if teeth and alveolar bone support are positioned beyond basal bone support. Evaluation in Oral Medicine, Periodontics, and Orthodontics Departments at a Dental School may be in order.

Consults with: I would suggest seeing another Periodontist for a second opinion. Seek one that is highly regarded in your community by multiple General Dentists. A General Dentist or Prosthodontist should also evaluate you for parafunctional habits, occlusion etc. I recommend that a physician rule out any possible contributing medical issues. Not a bad idea to seek a Dental School Perio Dept if still no answers

See below: Is your gum disease being addressed? There are many causation factors, inclusive of diabetes, poor oral health, parafunctional habits etc. If you feel that your issues are not being addressed, seek out a local dental school or faculty practice associated with the school. It is important to treat your periodontal disease and have regular scheduled hygiene visits as prescribed.
