A member asked:

I recently developed a pimple on the gum beside my tooth they preformed the root canal on 7 years ago and went to the endodontist and she discovered a cyst next to my tooth and bone loss around the tooth. is this from the root canal?

The root canal was done to save your tooth. Over the years you developed gum disease causing a cyst and bone loss from bacterial build up. You should see your dentist for an exam and possible referral to a periodontist. You need a deep cleaning and a program of oral hygiene if there is other bone loss around more teeth.

No, it's not from the root canal. It's probably from the same infection that necessitated the original root canal treatment. Follow your Endodontist's advice. She has the training and experience to help you resolve the issue.
