The heart goes: through some remodeling and the circulating volume increases during pregnancy. Hormonal changes result in increased compliance of cartilaginous tissues. These changes can result in transient changes in the valvular anatomy and cardiac physiology that could result in transient prolapse. It usually resolves over several months post delivery and is rarely clinically significant.
