Bacteria poop: The bacteria that live in our mouths (everyone has it) emit their waste products that make a sticky layer that holds other bacteria to the surfaces and nooks and crannies of the teeth. Some bugs make an acidic poop that causes the tooth structure to dissolve away bit by bit. This break down is decay. Control the bugs, control the decay.
