OK, good luck to him: With his symptoms, the MRI would be to determine if he has a disc in his cervical area that is somehow causing a nerve entrapment type of issue, causing his body below the area to get numb. Hopefully, his condition will be diagnosed and the proper treatment will occur to get him feeling better. Best wishes to him.
