A member asked:

Can stopping klonopin cold turkey cause fibromyalgia?

No, but not safe.: Stopping Klonopin suddenly can cause withdrawal such as increased anxiety, rapid heart rate, sweating, tremors, and in serious cases seizures. You may have rebound muscle tension since it is a muscle relaxant, but it wouldn't cause fibromyalgia. I would not stop it cold turkey b/c it can be dangerous. You should go on a titration schedule monitored by your doctor.

No: fibromyalgia is not induced by a withdrawal from a benzodiazepine, presence of klonopin could be ameliorating some of the fibromyalgia symptoms however as stress does make it worse
