Pain and dysfunction: If you can play with minimal pain and you have good function with running, jumping, cutting, etc., then you could play today. I would recommend you wear a lace-up brace while playing, at least for the next one month. Rehab is very important in preventing a future sprain, so begin a rehab program if you have not done so. If pain is moderate and your function is limited, then sit this game out.
