A member asked:

I was told i have entercoccus faecalis in my urine. i took clindamycin for a week prior. could that have caused it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Clindamycin is an antibiotic. It does not cause infection, except as a complication of treatment, and then usually clostridium difficile colitis. Enterococcus faecalis in urine is often a contaminant but would need far more information to give you further advice. Are you symptomatic? What did urinalysis show? Not due to clindamycin.
