A member asked:

Can mouth ulcers be from mono or ebv? diagnosed 2 years ago&have never had an ulcer. i have 2 glasses of wine a week but have healthy diet otherwise

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Mouth ulcers: These ulcers in the mouth can be caused by herpes Type I, and can be recurrent with other illness or just by itself. Wine can aggravate it due to its acidity, so best to avoid citrus, spicy and acidic foods when eating and drinking. You can get checked with labs for this and treated with Acyclovir (script) if indicated for each episode that occurs from your internist/GYN MD. It is unlikely Mono/EB
