It sounds like there: is a significant component of stiffness in your spine problem impairing walking and causing discomfort when you try to shorten your spine by flexing your neck. Ankylosing spondylitis is an inflammatory disease that can cause some of the vertebrae to fuse together reducing flexibility. Symptoms often begin in early adulthood.
