Be patient: These usually diminish in size after skeletal growth stops. Within the next 2-3 years your bones should remodel and the prominence be totally gone, with no scarring from an unnecessary procedure. If they went in and chiseled it down, there is also no guarantee it would not grow back even bigger as a reaction to the surgery.
