All new breast lumps should be examined by a physician. They can be caused by many things - infection, cysts, cancer. Some patients may be feeling ribs or normal breast tissue when they are concerned with a lump. If a person finds a lump that is red or hot - it is more concerning for an infection and they should go to urgent care for evaluation, otherwise make appt with their PCP or GYN.
