Possibly: A lesion of the base of the throat or base of tongue adjacent to epiglottis may be Ca of tongue. Biospy indicated. To reach that site surgically, if surgeon suspicious on exam if to use transhyoid pharyngotomy where hyoid is resected and base of tongue is immediately exposed for usually excisional bx.
