Therapy?: Specific phobias are often very well treated with a specific type of therapy called cognitive behavioral therapy. This type of therapy addresses the thoughts and behaviors associated with the fear and has a lot of scientific evidence. Trying a different medication along with therapy is most likely to work more quickly but doing therapy alone often works well enough that meds can be avoided.
