Platelets hover between 96-160k, also get weak/aches. all other blood work stays normal. would this still warrant a bone marrow biopsy?

Not necessarily: If all other blood test results are normal, you do not have any abnormal bleeding, you may wish to wait and watch. If the platelet count stays stable at its current level, it will not be an issue and will not cause any problems. You should follow your doctor's advice for repeat tests.
