Not particularly: Dental radiographs provide the practitioner with necessary information when combined with a clinical exam and an evaluation of any symptoms. When numerous radiographs are taken over time, an overall picture of your dental health can be established. CBCT images may be overkill taken multiple times over a short period of time, and may still not capture the information you seek.

Sometimes: Depends on circumstances. If you have symptoms and DDS cannot make diagnosis, often CBCT will give more information.
