Ultrasound of what?: I'm not sure what was viewed with the ultrasound from your description. Ultrasound is generally good at distinguishing something solid from something filled with fluid (a cyst). Most cysts are benign, even if unexpected. For example, kidney, liver, ovarian cysts (depending on age & cycle). Cysts in some organs (brain) can cause problems. If 2 docs said it's OK, most likely it's OK.

Hi doctors. I had a renal mesenteric ultrasound. The sonographer reported one complex cyst lower pole with septation 4.7 cm x 5.2 cm. Does the fact that the word septation was used in the singular mean there was only one? What do the cm numbers mean?
