A member asked:

I was in a car accident and the doctors said my xray came back with mild anterior osteophytosis to the c5 and c6 of the spine. what does this mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not a serious matter: Bone osteophytes are common in areas where there is some element of chronic Arthritis(osteoarthritis). It is usually silent and does not cause any problems. But you should exercise all your bone joints including your spine. This might slow the process down and keep you pain free for a ;long period of time.
