Many causes: Hi AnasuyaD, There are many reasons for a drop in WBC count but the common ones are infections especially severe (also HIV), immune problems such as lupus, drugs, leukemias and lymphomas and problems with WBC production in the bone marrow. Your doctor will need to examine you and run tests to determine the cause. Also, your doctor will need to know if other blood cells are involved. Best of luck

That's normal: I'm going to assume that the absolute lymphocyte and absolute neutrophil counts are still fairly close to the reference range. White count fluctuates wildly from day to day, even from hour to hour. A long cold shower can double it. A minor illness may drop it.
