Can breast cysts be malignant?

Breast cysts: Breast malignancies are generally solid and breast cysts are generally nonmalignant. Your physician and the radiologist confer and decide whether any further imaging or biopsy is advisable. If there is a palpable breast lump, I prefer to have a breast surgeon also render an opinion and be involved for follow-up in these cases.

Usually not: Cysts are not known to turn into cancer and do not always need treating once the diagnosis has been confirmed. Where treatment is needed, it typically involves draining the fluid from the cyst. http://patient.info/health/breast-lumps
