A member asked:

Should septated breast cysts be aspirated?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Depends on your history, results of last mammogram ; ultrasound, ; family risk factors. Just by itself, a finding of a septated breast cyst does not indicate a need for aspiration. If the cyst is large or painful or able to be felt on physical exam, then there may be relief with aspiration. Breast cyst size, shape ; family history or risk factors together are more important factors to know.
