Pain, numbness: The shooting type pain followed by numbness of the arm suggests a nerve impingement occurring in the region of the elbow as seen in spurs, inflammatIon of tendons,or calcium deposits. I doubt that a problem with the artery was the cause because of lack of coldness and color change of the arm or hand. I recommend an evaluation by an orthopedic surgeon or neurologist for diagnosis and treatment.
