A member asked:

I am 22 and a half weeks pregnant and have just had a scan revealing low amounts of amniotic fluid. what treatment is available?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Limited treatments: There are no good clearly defined treatments to improve amniotic fluid volume. However, the following interventions may help: 1) limit activity as much as possible--at times increasing uterine perfusion through rest can increase amniotic fluid. Also, keeping oneself adequately hydrated is important in pregnancy regardless of amniotic fluid volume.
