A member asked:

Im 35 weeks pregnant and my amniotic fluid is low. what are the risk of me having my little girl this early?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Mainly breathing: By 35 weeks, the lungs are still developing but are capable of functioning on their own. There is a risk that with the amniotic fluid low, there could be some lung immaturity, and she may need breathing help until her lungs are better formed. Her temperature may be low, and she may need to be in an incubator for a week or so. Also there can be an increased risk of infection.
