It is perfectly ok: to drink water while in any position that enables you to do it without spilling it all over yourself (hard to do when lying down!!??) There is a little bit of controversy about drinking water/liquids with a meal. Some say washing down your food with too much liquid can dilute digestive enzymes and impair digestion, but there is actually very little evidence for this. Staying hydrated is the goal.
